British company is planning to launch the world’s first smart condom.

British Condom has recently revealed its plans to launch the world’s first smart condoms, a device so unique and outstanding in its own way, that it makes you wonder why hasn’t someone thought about this before.
Dubbed the i.Con or the intelligent condom, British Condom’s new product will probably hit the market somewhere in 2017. What are the advantages of using the smart condom? First of all, the device was specifically made to sniff out any sexually transmitted diseases.
According to the company’s spokespersons, i.Con can determine if your sexual partner has syphilis, chlamydia or gonorrhea. In addition, by pairing the device with your tablet or smartphone, the device can relay useful information about your sexual performance.
Technically speaking, the smart condom is not actually condom but a ring that can be placed on top of a regular rubber prior to the intercourse. As for the product’s availability, British Condom declared that the product is currently under testing, but it should hit the market sometime this year.
So, how much will the smart condom cost? The company stated that the product’s starting price should be around £60 or $74 and can be purchased directly from British Condom’s website.
Apart from providing you with useful information about STDs the device can also grade your sexual performance. According to the product’s presentation page, i.Con will be able to tell you stuff like calories burnt during each bedroom session, total number of thrusts per session, the frequency of sexual intercourse, the duration of each session, and of course, girth measurement.
The smart condom’s sensors can also plot numbers for things like the speed of each thrust, how many positions you’ve used during one session, and the average temperature of your skin during sexual intercourse.
For the tech enthusiasts, the company has prepared a couple of very special functions. For example, after pairing the device with a smartphone, you can compare your results with other people from around the world. The application also features a leaderboard, a very useful asset if you want a quick self-esteem boost.
You will be able to recharge your device using a Micro-USB cable, but that shouldn’t be much of a worry considering that the gadget can survive for at least 8 hours on a single charge.
