(Mirror Daily, United States) – The mission of Relay for Life event continues throughout the United States, and the next stop is Mitchell County. The event will take place at Stacyville City Park, Saturday, July 16th, from 4 to 9 p.m. to raise awareness and funds to support the research of the American Cancer Society.
There will be a special speech this year in the Osage Fourth of July Parade made by Verena Kramer (80 years old) and Carol Brumm (72 years old), two honorary cancer survivors.
Brumm has been a part of the organization team for the last six years events, supporting her daughter-in-law collect funds for a team. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in November 2014 but entered remission a few months ago.
Brumm stressed that the most important thing is that people must have faith, and also they need to think positive regardless of the situation. Kramer has been a part of the Relay initiative for the past 15 years after her granddaughter had been diagnosed with Children’s Leukemia.
Since then, Kramer has formed a team and raised funds to help people fight cancer. Also, Kramer has been battling with lymphoma for the past eight years. A tumor was removed from the tongue a few months ago, and her health condition is excellent.

The Relay will be held in honor to those who passed away, support cancer fighters, and celebrate survivors. Luminaria candles will be part of the ceremony for those who lost the battle with cancer. All donations will go to the American Cancer Society to support the work of scientists who are trying to find a better treatment for this disease every day.
