Red will forget his anger and embrace happiness only if people start tending for the environment.
(Mirror Daily, United States) – The United Nations decided that the honorary ambassador for Happiness Day is Angry Birds’ Red. The leader of the enraged birds will serve as an envoy that inspires a proactive attitude toward climate change management.
Tomorrow, Sunday, the 20th of March people will celebrate International Happiness Day, and Red, the leader of the Angry Birds, is its Honorary Ambassador.
The United Nations decided to include the world phenomenon game characters in the battle against climate change. According to Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the UN, the winged characters entertained millions, so maybe they will inspire at least a part of those people to adopt a proactive attitude towards climate change management.
Ki-moon declared that he couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate International Happiness Day than by giving Red the chance of raising awareness about climate change. Furthermore, he has the possibility of convincing people that we must take action in order to live in a more sustainable, safer and happier world.
“We are proud to give Red a reason to go Green.”
The campaign is a partnership between the UN Foundation, the United Nations Development Program and Sony Entertainment. Its primary goal is to convince the worldwide public that the Angry Birds could be Happy, instead, if people would take action and fight climate change.
The collaboration encourages the broad public to photograph themselves planting a tree, or a garden and share the pictures on social media with the hashtag #AngryBirdsHappyPlanet.
There are a lot of simple thinks a person could do in the fight against climate change. For starters, if more people would use a reusable water bottle instead of buying plastic ones, conserve water, take public transportation or walk instead of hoping in the car, plant a garden, or a tree, then the rate of climate change would severely decrease.
Being an honorary ambassador, Red must now fulfil his duties. Monday, on the 21st of March he will begin a world tour that will take him to various big cities, including Paris, and end in New York on the 22nd of April.
The appointing ceremony was also attended by Maya Rudolph, Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis, the lead actors in the upcoming movie about the Angry Birds. The actors were joined by producers Catherine Winder and John Cohen.
If the honorary ambassador for Happiness Day is Angry Birds’ Red, then nothing is impossible. But the feisty winged character can only stay happy if people actively engage in the fight against climate change.
