Apple’s iPhone 6 is the slowest to charge, tech analysts have concluded.
Smartphone technology is nothing without a good battery life, so tech analysts at Tom’s Guide have set forth to determine which is the best and the worst phone to have, depending on the time it takes to fully charge its battery. Results have shown iPhone 6 has failed charging speed tests because it required too much time to complete the task that competing models have finished at a much faster rate.
Six other smartphones have been used for the current test, which are also the most popular among mobile users. According to the developers behind the test, the other models that have been tested have been Samsung Galaxy 6, Asus ZenFone 2, OnePlus 2, Motorola Droid Turbo, Motorola Google Nexus 6 and LGG4.
The idea behind the charging speed test was to determine how much time each model requires in order to fully charge its battery. Various comparisons have been performed after 15 minutes, 30 minutes and at the end of the experiment. Other factors have also been taken into consideration, namely the size of the battery and its milliamps per minute rate.
Differences have already started to become visible after a 5-minute interval. ZenFone 2 was the fastest with a 17-percent charging rate. Galaxy S6 came in the second place with 11 percent, whereas the slowest was iPhone 6, showcasing only 6 percent.
After 30 minutes, ZenFone 2 and Galaxy S6 had already covered great part of the charging process registering approximately 53 percent. iPhone 6 was still at the end of the list with just 36 percent.
For the final phase, researchers waited until all smartphone completed their charging and then, moved on to drawing conclusions. The fastest smartphone remains Galaxy S6, which required only 1 hour and 22 minutes to finish the charge. In spite of its good start, ZenFone 2 stumbled at the threshold and dropped on the fifth place due to its 1 hour and 49 minute interval.
Based on the results of the experiment, researchers have concluded that OnePlus 2 and iPhone 6 are the slowest charging devices. Apple’s smartphone took 1 hour and 20 minutes to display the fully charged message after requiring 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to an 80-percent level.
The recent test enabled tech analysts to conclude that fast charging mechanisms can really make a difference in point of smartphone technology.
