The Gwinnett County Police Department declared that, recently, a 32-year-old man living in a rented apartment in an Atlanta suburb had strangled a mother and her son. Reportedly, the terrible incident occurred on Sunday evening, and it would appear that the landlord was on the premises. Both mother and infant were rushed to the local hospital, but the doctors could not save them.
Cpl. Michele Pihera, a spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department, declared that 32-year-old Brandon Williams was recently arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The man allegedly murdered his roommate and her son following a heated argument which took place on Sunday night.
Lawrenceville Man Ends Peaceful Cohabitation With Murder
The details regarding the tragic events which occurred at Tybee Drive house just before 11:00 pm are still somewhat vague. According to the authorities, Brandon Williams was sharing the same house with a woman and a 2-year-old infant. The investigation revealed that Williams is the landlord’s son and that the victims rented the room a couple of months ago.
Moreover, it would appear that there was no connection between Williams and his victims, making the assailant’s murder motive hard to guess. However, the investigators discovered that Williams planned his murder, as he confessed to waiting for his father to leave the house before committing the deed. The landlord was outside, working on his vehicle when the tragic events occurred.
Williams’ victims were 30-year-old Natalie Nation and her 2-year-old infant. As soon as the landlord left the house, the Lawrenceville man grabbed a towel from the bathroom, wrapped it around Nation’s neck and kept applying pressure until Natalie collapsed.
Murder Weapon Used On Toddler Remains Hidden
According to the coroner’s report, after strangling 30-year-old Natalie Nation, Williams grabbed another object which he used to strangle the infant. The murder weapon used on the 2-year-old has yet to be identified.
Williams’ deed was discovered by the landlord who stormed the house after hearing screams. He immediately called the authorities, who transported Nation and her son to the nearby hospital. Unfortunately, due to his injuries, the toddler passed away after being transported to the hospital.
As for his mother, according to the authorities, the woman survived Williams’ brutal assault but was in critical condition. The woman passed away on early Monday morning.
The Lawrenceville man was found by the officers outside of his father’s house. He was taken into custody and was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
