(Mirror Daily, United States) – Exciting news for gamers, as we might be seeing one part of the Nintendo NX this year in the form of a handheld device. However, that’s just one part of the broader Nintendo NX project that will also arrive with a next generation console.

Perhaps it’s the unfortunate fallout of the Wii U, but most Nintendo fans are likely looking forward to a new gaming hardware. While the 3DS is doing well, at the very least better than the Wii U, it seems another is on the horizon. Rumors have started circulating about the Japanese company’s next hardware, and there is a bit of information allegedly available.

Reportedly, there is the expectation of a “small recovery of flat panel displays for game devices because of Nintendo’s new game hardware expected to be released in 2016”. That means that the company is planning an unveiling and a launch this year of handheld device, given the screen sizes. The display is estimated to be between 3.1 to 5 inches wide, and order for them will increase from 14.1 million units to 16.5 million units.

Like the Wii U, the upcoming Nintendo NX is believed to be a combination between a console and a handheld device.

However, the innovation will be that the handheld NX controller will actually be an independent unit. That likely means both wireless connectivity that would stretch farther than just your home. It’s probable that you will be able to take it anywhere. So, there is no pause in gaming sessions. The fact that you left your house won’t come between you and video games.

Of course, any platform is only as successful as the quality of titles it has. According to Dr. Serkan Toto, who has been known as a reliable source of information regarding Nintendo, Bandai Namco is currently developing games for the NX. And, Mario Smash Bros is included among them. That is an exciting bit of news, though unsurprising that they will be carrying on one of their biggest successes to the newest platform.

According to a few rumors, Nintendo has already started shipping developer kits ahead of time, so game markers will have a few titles ready by the time it launcheas. When will that be, however, is not entirely known, only estimated. However, more is planned to be revealed at E3 this year in June.

It’s potentially interesting news for the gaming community to get more information on Nintendo’s next console and handheld device. Perhaps it will get them back into the race and be able to compete once again with Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
