(Mirror Daily, United States) – Gamers excited for virtual reality can pre-order Oculus Rift to get EVE: Valkyrie for free in a nice little bundle that might become the essence of VR. There are certain moments in the history of gaming that become memorable. First it was the transition from 2D to 3D that blew the minds of gamers.
Now, the transition from 3D to VR could have a similarly strong impact. The world of gaming is about to take another drastic turn, even though its success still remains to be seen. Regardless, the technology is drawing nearer, and the market will likely be flooded by VR games. But that will become the case only in 2016.
Those who have a vast interest in gaming can pre-order their Oculus Rift headset for VR, and get EVE: Valkyrie along with it. The space epic will allow players to explore the exciting battles from aboard a spaceship, swooping and blasting at their enemies or friends, for that matter. According to Oculus founder, Palmer Luckey, this is the perfect combination.
EVE: Valkyrie flawlessly captures the essence of VR, immersing players in a sci-fi adventure in the midst of battling from spaceship. It could become to virtual reality what Tetris was for the Game Boy: a must-have game. The one that defines the rest that follow after it, and one that all the players will remember as the initiator of the genre. At least, that is their hope.
The VR game is building impressive hype around it due to the spectacular graphics and potentially expansive gameplay. There are no limitations in space, which should mean that players will be free to travel up and down, around, above, and across the set ‘battlefield’ around space, shooting blasters and firing rockets. They will be placed within the cockpit, with commands at a stretch of their hand.
There are certain advantages that would make EVE as a better choice for VR than consoles or a PC. Players with a mouse or controller might find it difficult to lock onto their target. With VR, all they need to do is look at it, and it will ready for blasting into smithereens. Of course, all this while keeping your spaceship from crashing into objects or into others.
It could prove itself to be the perfect game to start out on for virtual reality. The possibilities are endless, and EVE is already one of the most anticipated title for the platform.
The sci-fi game will likely launch at the same time as the Oculus Rift headset. No precise date nor price has been confirmed, but it has been suggested that it will launch in the first quarter of 2016.
